New Look Tamiko

DSC09853DSC09849Next to the church in Daejeon there is a hairstylist who is always busy, so Tamiko decided to “give her a try”. Her new style came out great, but you will have to wait until Wednesday Okinawans to see the new cut. The price was just right, only 7,000 Korean Won, about 550 yen ($6.75 American Dollars). Good looking hairstyle Tamiko, lookin good!

Cute Kid

DSC09841

This is one of the cute kids at the orphanage in Daejeon that everyone loves. We actually do not know his name, we call him “Sammy” after Sosimo’ brother in the states. They kind of look the same, both of them are really cute. Sammy has a lot of energy. He comes over to you, gives you a candy and will “chow down” on your food if you don’t watch out. I have seen him now for the last year and a half and he is getting older. A cute kid, God has good things in store for him, please pray for brother “Sammy”.

House of Hope – Special Needs Home

DSCF1871 DSCF1882 DSCF1908DSCF1889 DSCF1898It was a blessing to spend the late morning, early afternoon at the “house of hope”. We spent a lot of time with the residents there and then went out to work on the field. The girls were in charge of laundry and the guys dug for rocks. It really was a great time of ministry.

Daejeon Orphanage

DSC09837DSC09838 DSC09839 Both Saturday and Sunday afternoon we hung out at the Orphanage in Daejeon. Pastor Mike and the crew come out here every Saturday to spend time with the kids, to teach English classes and to just “hang out” with the kids. Kids are kids and they just love to play and spend time with friends. Everyone had a good time.

Sakura Festival

DSC09828DSC09829Korea celebrates their “Cherry Blossoms” just like we do in Japan. Like all over the world we have been experiencing a “cold front”, so the Sakura are blooming later this year. The crowds were low this week in the mountains of Daejeon, next week they will probably be in full bloom so there will be a lot of people. We had to find other ways of entertaining ourselves, check out Jillian and a new friend.

Yogurt Wafflecones

DSC09826DSC09827A must stop in Korea; Yogurt Waffle cones, the best! This is a college area where we spend some of the evening just hanging out. Fresh ice cream in a taco shaped cone, everyone was diggin it.

Having Some Dinner

DSC09825We took a trip down memory lane visiting the restaurant where Daniel and Sosimo used to live. The restaurant has a new owner but still great food and a good price. So the team headed out for a good evening. Teriya was having a good time, lots of food and lots of fun.

Overwhelmed

DSC09817DSC09816 Justin couldn’t help himself, when Pastor Mike stopped to get donuts for the morning Bible Study Justin was just “overwhelmed”. Krispy Kreme donuts, there is only one site in Japan, but that is Mainland Japan.

New Look Cotton

DSC09803Tom got a major trip today thanks via Hannah, he looks pretty good! A haircut can sure make you look younger. He looks like that guy who came here 3 years ago. But don’t worry folks, he is still “Mr. Cool Cotton”.

One sent out with a Mission

DSC09797 DSC09798 DSC09800Trevor will be leaving Okinawa Friday. He will be heading back to Canada for a few weeks to be with family and friends, and then off to Hokkaido. Trevor will be serving at the New Calvary Chapel that is starting in Sapporo. It is a blessing to see God use Trevor over the last few years here in Okinawa. God has used him as a good teacher of the Word. I know that the people in Hokkaido will be blessed by this servant of the Lord. WE are going to miss you brother, may the Lord bless All your work for Him.

Asa’s First Day in 2nd Grade

DSC09792Second grade started for Asa today. I cannot believe that he is staring a new year. It feels like he started 1st grade a few months ago. The kids all gathered into the gym for an orientation. They allow the family to be there the first day. It seemed like Asa was more ready this year.

Samantha shares her Testimony

DSC09788We were blessed to have Samantha share her testimony with us Tuesday morning. It is awesome to see the work that God is doing in our lives, He has taken us out of the world and set us apart for a good work. Praise God for the work He is doing in Samantha’ life.

Pastor Travis is here taking the guys out for a fun adventure (he took this picture). Well, we hope our brother has a great time in Mainland Japan. Jesse will return back to Korea on Friday the same day that we arrive at Incheon Airport. The only difference is that he arrives a few hours later. We are looking forward to seeing our brother.

Absolutely a Beautiful Bride!

DSC09745DSC09762 DSC09754Today Joanna Bessman became Mrs. Andrew  Barrow, it has been raining for the last two days, and we did not know if the ceremony would be outside. But the Lord knew and it was a beautiful service. On the drive to Cape Zampa the sun came out and gave us some good rays, but then we had good shade, Pastor Rick conducted a beautiful service. We love you Joanna, and you are so special to all of us, “thank you Lord for blessing her with a good husband”. May the Lord bless you girl, and bless you new life together with Andrew. For the rest of us, please leave her a Wedding greeting below.

Josh Perry’s look alike – Read Article Below

neal_mcdonough_20090225(NEWSER) – Neal McDonough is no longer part of the ABC cast of the new Scoundrels because the script called for him to do a sex scene. The devout Catholic and father of three balked, and he got replaced three days into filming for his trouble, reports Radar. McDonough, 44, is best known for his roles on Desperate Housewives, Band of Brothers, and Boomtown.

Plenty dfdahdand of big-name female actresses refuse to do love scenes, notes Margaret Eby at Salon, but it's rare to find a guy who draws the line. "It’s easy to dismiss McDonough as out of touch with the industry or perhaps even a religious nut, but the more I thought about it, the more I admired the guy. Given the constant turmoil in most stars’ love lives and how difficult it seems to be to stay married in Hollywood, maybe McDonough’s move isn’t so much self-defeating as it is smart."

I do not know much about his life but I thought that this was an interesting article. Good reading.

Mom and Dad Heading Home

DSC09731DSC09734It has been a blessing have Justin’s Parents (Tony and Melinda) with us this past week, but now it is time for them to head back to California. The Diaz’s have been such a blessing and saying goodbye is always hard. Thank you Tony and Melinda for such a blessing you have been to all of us, especially to the Bible College Students. May the Lord bless you and guide you back in California. May He continue to use you in a wonderful way! Thank you for everything!

He Passed!

DSC09730Zach recently passed his Japanese Drivers Test, he is now a legal holder of his Japanese Drivers License. God totally blessed him, he passed on his first try. For Rob, Pastor Tom and Joanna it took at least 5 times to get it done. Great Job Zach, all Glory to God!

Dave’ Devotion

DSC09725Wednesday morning Dave Saroka gave the morning devotion at the Bible College. Dave will be leaving Okinawa next week as he heads to the States. He will no long be in the Marine Corps as he is finishing up his service. It has been a blessing having Dave around, but God has great things in store for him.
