Matt Gaston is back from Mainland Japan

Matt arrived from Japan a few days ago and hook up with Misty in Murrieta. They headed down to CCLivingwater for the second service. Afterwards we all went out to lunch. Don't the girls look so beautiful in their yukata's? It was such a blessing to see our buddy again.

Ministry at CCLivingwater Spanish Ministry

While the English group meets in the Sanctuary, the Spanish service is held in the house next door. I had the opportunity to speak to the Spanish congregation this Sunday. It was a blessing to teach again using a translator. I really like teaching using a translator, it is such a blessing to teach other language groups. Like I always say, "I doubt that is heaven we will speak english". God wants to minister to all language groups. God bless you, Pastor Tommy

Surf's Up Baby!

One good thing about California, the waves break 360 days a year. We made sure that Hideyuki had his times on the waves. The crowds were light at San Onofre. The weather was still cold enough that we needed our wetsuits. There were a few brave guys out there just trunken it, but it was cold when the Sun was behind the clouds.

School of Ministry Graduation

On Thursday night, Jesse and Pastor Pule graduated at the SOM in Costa Mesa. It was so cool! They videoed all the graduates and they encouraged us with their words of wisdom. Pastor Chuck officated the service. At the end, they had all of graduates outside and people were free to go and pray for them and their wives. We were so proud of all the students.

Wedding Rehersal

Jon and Evangelina are getting married at a beautiful sight at Lytle Creek in Riverside County. It will be an outdoor wedding and the weather has been perfect in California. We had a wonderful time preparing for the ceremony. It is so exciting! The Japanese gals will also be attending. Let's not forget that Hideyuki will be there too.

Alert! We found him!

It was so good to see Matt Davis again. He looks good doesn't he? He is presently serving the Lord at the Murrieta campus. When we hooked up, he was doing some landscaping. When you get a chance, write down a comment below for our brother.

The Afterglow!

Wednesday night (the last night of the conference), we had an afterglow service. It is a time that we allow the Holy Spirit to speak to our hearts. God spoke so much to us. Most importantly the Word went out for us to continue steps of faith in Okinawa. Please pray for us as the new work begins in Ishikawa.

The Calvary Carnavore's

They fed us so well at the Pastor's Conference. Pictured in the center is Pastor Tom Hallman from Virginia (left) and Pastor Dion Douville from Idaho. These guys were chowin down on the ribs. It was fun just clownin around.

Pastor Conference Pictures

Here are some of the Pastor's in action. It was such a blessing hanging out with all the guys. There were so many pictures to put up, but these were the few that we narrowed down to. God is Great, He is doing an incredible work through the Calvary Chapel's.

Senior Pastor's Conference at Murrieta Hot Springs

It is truly a blessing to be a part of the Calvary Chapel Pastor's Conference this year in California. The Lord is doing such an awesome work in the lives of may people who are a part of the Calvary movement. In the center picture we have Pastor Chuck Smith. Sorry that it is so blurry, I could not get a better picture from how far back we were. The is the first day, so everyone is just getting settled in. God bless you all, Pastor Tommy

CCCM Japanese Translation Study

On Sunday evening John Hasagawa has a translation study of Pastor Chuck Smith's Sunday Evening Service. It is a real blessing. The english people are in the main sanctuary and the Japanese people are located in another room. After the study, we had the opportunity to share with them, what is going on in Okinawa as well as prepare those from the School of Ministry who will be coming over to minister in August. We were all so blessed.

Deeply missed brother

This is a picture of Pastor Tim praying for Mark Davis. This is Major Mark's last service here in Okinawa. Words cannot express how much we will miss this brother. For some of you who do not know Mark, he is Keegan's dad. I can still remember Mark coming over to our house helping us fix the bathroom for the new students who were coming to the Bible College to stay with us. That was about 10 months ago. "Lord, bless Mark, Diana, and Keegan as they begin a new venture with You in Mississippi. Thank you for the time we had with Mark and Keegan in Okinawa. We love them so much, Please lead, guide and bless them. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen"

Ministry at Corona High School

Tuesday afternoon we were invited to speak at the Christian Lunch Club at Corona High School. Jon, Daniel and Keegan led in worship, and we had the opportunity to share about ministry in Okinawa. It was a blessing to see the Christina Club on Campus as well as fellowship with the students. Please keep all of the Christian students in the High Schools in your prayers, that they would continue to be a witness for Jesus Christ

Ministry at CC Whittier

It was a blessing to take the Japanese group down to Whittier to minister at Pastor Alvin's church. They are temporarily meeting at Biola University on Wednesday nights because the school where they rent are having a lot of graduations this week. God continues to do a great work in the city of Whittier.

Students at Angel Stadium

The Angels played the Seattle Mariners at the Big A in Anaheim, California. The Japanese students were so excited to see Ichiro (bottom right) who is a famous Japanese Baseball player. As you can see in the other pictures they made signs in Japanese so he would see them. We took over 26 people with us to the game, it was a real blast.

Don't forget about the food, we were chowin down Livingwater style. Please leave Jon an encouraging word in the comment section below.

Pastor Tim and Ayu's new blog

Hi everyone! This is Tim and Ayu's new blog, but let me warn you, it is all in Japanese. Pastor Tim is rockin the Nijongo language! There is a little danger to this blog, you might begin to supernaturally understand the language or get a real heart for Japan, so look at it with caution. For those of you who know Japanese, practice your language with Pastor Tim by leaving a comment in Nijongo for him and Ayu. www.newellsnewsletter.blogspot.com Peace out! Pastor Tommy

Ministry at CC Los Alamitos

Sunday morning we had the opportunity to minister at Pastor John Greenroyd's Church in Seal Beach. We led in worship as well as had the blessing to share what the Lord is doing in Okinawa. Most of the gals wore their yukata's (Okinawan kimonos) and talked to the people of the church. As you can see in the picture, the new batch of CCBC shirts came in. Pastor Tim made us a new design so we will be printing them soon. Please keep the team in prayer, we have many opportunities to share what the Lord is doing through the ministry here in Okinawa. God bless you, Pastor Tommy

Good news to Gaijin in Japan

The other day this article was on the cover of the Wall Street Journal in the USA. In a nutshell it states that Japan is warming up to foreign workers. It states that Japan is allowing foreign workers to get visas easier since the growth rate is declining they need to allow foreign workers to come into the country to help with the work load. Good news for us Gaijin (foreigners) who are trying to get visas to serve the Lord in Japan. Please continue to pray that the Lord will send more workers into the Harvest.
