Mammoth Morning Breakfast

Harvey and Elsa blessed us with a wonderful breakfast this morning. Breakfast of Champions! The works! Praise the Lord!

Mary Lake in Mammoth

The guys were having fun but it was sooooooo cooooold! We were just testing out the lake. Good times!

Cadillac Girls

On our way to Mammoth we stopped by Schat's Bakery. Outside they have a Pink Cadillac that used to belong to Elvis Presley. We could not resist the picture.

Good cup of Joe

I was at CCBC Murrieta picking up Hannah so I decided to buy a cup of coffee at the cafe on campus. I ran into Josh Bonner as he was working. He made me a special "pour over". It was delicious! He did a great job! Thanks bro.

Nikuman (shuyopan)

Or in Samoa manapua; no matter where you buy them they are delicious. I cannot believe the price. In Japan they cost 120yen ($1.50) for one. Here in China you get 6 for $1.00 (80yen). Joanna loved it, but it turned Asa into a Zombie.

Gyoza Street Vendors

The only way to cook Gyoza, outside in a huge cast iron skillet. After they are fried he adds in a cup of water and steams them to perfection. Delicious!

Shanghai Breakfast

Asa and I got up early and went to breakfast at the hotel; Starway Hotel. The place was packed with China Eastern Airlines trainee employees. Some things Asa liked and didn't like. It was all good.

Pastor Rick would go Crazy!

Oh man! In Israel these cost $4.50, but here in China $1.00. I can't believe it! The same bar; different country, different price. Go figure!

Presidential Treatment

President Obama has nothing on this kid. He had to go to the restroom at the last minute and held up the whole bus. They were waiting for this one kid to get finish in the facilities. What a joker.

The First Leg Begins

We fly Okinawa to LAX via Shanghai, China. Right now China Eastern is the cheapest way to fly from Japan. The only problem, you have to spend the night in China. It really is not a problem, maybe an unconvinced, but it is cool entering into the country. Normally the bus costs 200.00 usd each person to get a visa to come to China but because we have a connection they give you a 48 hour free visa. We will keep you informed.

Ruiz Family Heading back to the States

It's time for the Ruiz' to head back to California for the Pastor's conference in Murrieta and general ministry in the area. The following week in Bakersfield and then heading out to Idaho to teach at Pastor Dion's at CCHagermanValley. Tom and Joanna will also be joint teaching at a special Wednesday Service at CCLivingWater. Busy schedule, but Praise the Lord for the opportunities.

Saturday the ladies had a luncheon study titled "A Woman of Many Hats". They had a blessed time. Joanna taught the Word, Samantha gave an encouragement and the gals were blessed with great food. Praise the Lord!

Japanese Solar Eclipse

This was pretty amazing this morning. We had to pull over on the road. On the way to work out this morning we stopped and took pictures. Because the cloud cover was so thick we did not need special glasses and such. Pretty amazing!

More New Signs

As part of our new outreach; we are beginning to teach more English, and even offer Japanese classes. Joanna has been running the school for some years now mostly teaching at the pre-schools in the area. We are expanding out outreach for Jesus Christ.

Happy Birthday Rika!

We celebrated her birthday tonight at the Koinonia Cafe. After the mid week study we had cake and a blessed time. Happy Birthday Rika, may your day be blessed!

Raining Cats and Dogs

Well, that is what we say in the United States. When it is raining this hard there is no stopping it, ad boy does it rain here in Okinawa. This is good because the island relies completely on rainwater. Our water is so fresh here on the island, we are super blessed!

Finished Van

This is our second van that we have de-registered here in Okinawa. This was a blessed van and a good surf van this past year but it is now time for the scrap heap. Every two years our cars in Japan have to pass inspection (JCI), and this one won't pass without some major work. You cannot see it but the other side has dents and the back also. The transmission is going out but again, we were super blessed with this van. Nothing can compare with the "Torrent Van" in California, but this has come close. To God be the Glory!

It has been such a blessing to be in Tokyo and visit with the students and friends. But now it is time to get back to Okinawa. This is Asa's first train ride in Japan. He was loving it.

Chuck and Yumi Heading back

Time for the Robb's to head back to Higashatsushima. It has been a blessing being with them at the graduation and CCBC banquet. Please keep the Robb's in your prayers as they continue to serve the Lord!

It's Michal's Birthday!

I cannot believe it! My daughter is 16 years old! Where did the time go? How did time fly by so fast! I love you Michal! Thank you Jesus for my beautiful daughter! I have two wonderful angels!

Dinner Time at CCBC TOKYO

Some good chow at the Bible College tonight: chicken cacciatore, rice and salad. Topped off with a cake for Michal's Birthday!

Ginowan from the Skies

On our way to Tokyo we were able to take some good pictures of Okinawa from the air. Located below is Ginowan City and Futenma Marine Base. We are located right under the air base. Good picture from the air.

Heading to CCBC TOKYO

Joel, Tamiko and the Ruiz family are heading to Tokyo for the Graduation service at CCWESTTOKYO. It is going to be a super blessing. Taliya and Megumi will be coming tomorrow. It will be a packed house at the college. Super fun.

New Scenery

We moved some plants around to made room for the new window signs in the cafe. So we brought down the Palm trees from the front. The look really nice there, so tropical, representing out beautiful island. I still love the Okinawan roof.

T & T Leading Worship

At w2 Tamiko and Tom led in worship tonight for us. It is always a blessing to see people stepping out in faith for the Lord. To God be all the Glory for His Ministry.

Blown Away!

Andrew got sick this morning so he was not able to teach. Kazuki filled in for him last minute. Kazuki is one of our Bible College students who is taking our Biblical Preaching Class. Before taking this class he has never prepared a devotion, never given a message, never shared the Word in front of anyone before. He took the class and God did the rest. It is quite evident that God has given him the gift of teachings. So many good Bible teachers have come out of taking this class. The class is coming to an end for this semester. I am blown away on how many good Japanese and English Bible teachers (girls and guys) are coming out of this class. A whole crop of Excellent Bible Teachers! To God be ALL the Glory!

Not an Every Day Sight

A car here in Okinawa went up a railing. Our cars are so tiny and light here that the driver lost control and went up the railing. Praise God no one was hurt.

Recycle Store Teasures

Here in Okinawa we don't have "second hand stores" or "thrift stores" but we have "Recycle Shops". Zach was doing se hunting in Tokyo and came upon this find. It is an Art and Luthier Guitar which is hand made in Canada. Usually this model can go for around $300 dollars but he picked it up for $60 bucks. A great find in the Lord. Praise God!
