Sunday night -w2- Worship/Word

Tonight was a real blessing, the gang came for Biblestudy and we taught on John chapter 17, Jesus prayer for the future believers. It was awesome to realize that 2000 years ago, Jesus was thinking about us. Please continue to pray for w2, that the Lord will bring more Japanese people to come hear, and experience the Love of Jesus Christ.

Surprize! Tako (Octopus)

In Japan Octopus is called "tako" not like a mexican taco, even though it is pronounced the same way. So when you come to Okinawa, if you order a taco, you are going to get a "tako" (octopus). Well, we were having dinner early on Tuesday, (Kayo and Natsuki come early because they teach Japanese at the Bible College) and there was a knock on our door, it was our next door neighbor. Her husband is a fisherman and he loves to bring us all kinds of sea fixins, so this time he brought us tako. They were so fresh, right out of the ocean. Segmon, Zach, Natsuki and Kayo dug right in. We were blessed this afternoon.

Larry Torres back from the Philippines

Praise the Lord! Larry has just came back from the Philippines. He was sent out from the Marines to do some training, but on the nights and weekends he was able to visit a Pastor there in Caloocan, near Manila. The Pastor's name is Pol (he is pictured above), and Larry has known him for a long time. Well the church is doing good in the Philippines, and Larry was blessed to see Pol for this short visit. Please continue to pray for the Philippines and the wonderful works that God is doing in that country. Also, Larry's job for the Marines is Public Affairs, he is in charge of the journalists on Camp Foster. Please pray for Rob, Tom and Segmon as we will be heading out to Ilo Ilo at the end of November.

Aerial Photo of Okinawa

This is an aerial photograph of Okinawa. We live right at the top of the dragon's head in Ginowan city. Okinawa is known as the floating dragon, because as you can see in the picture, it kind of looks like a dragon's head with the body floating behind it. Ginowan city is considered one of the older cities in Okinawa. We are blessed to be able to minister in this country. Pastor Tommy

Sorry for the inconvience

Our video host site will be doing upgrades to their systems, so we will be unable to show videos for the next couple of days. We are very sorry, but please continue to check back often. We will continue to post articles the old fashion way.

Rick and Christy's Birthday Anniversary

This month is Rick and Christy's Birthday, it is also their 8th Anniversary. Last night we had the opportunity to head out to dinner with some of the leadership at CCOkinawa. It was a great night celebrating with them. One of the games that we played was called "If Rick and Christy were a food dish, what would they be, and why?" Some of the answers were great, one in particular said that they would be a peanut butter and jelly sandwich because the just go so good together. When you get a chance press the comment button below and leave a note for Rick and Christy on their birthday, thanks everyone. Pastor Tommy

Russ Lee in Concert in Yomitan

Friday night, our band (5,000 Fed) had the opportunity to open up for Russ Lee at the Yomitan Cultural Center. For those of you who don't know Russ Lee, he is a Christian singer/songwriter. He has been touring in Okinawa for the last 2 weeks. He has ministered primarily on the military bases, but hooked up with OCSI for this free concert. It was a total blast, everyone got into it. Pictured above is part of our band with Russ Lee, the middle picture is some of the youth having a great time worshipping the Lord. The bottom picture is Russ Lee ministering on stage. Video! Tokashiki Men's Retreat 2005

Upload Video at JussPress.com

It was such a blessing to attend the 2005 Tokashiki Men's retreat this past week. The Harbor which is an outreach ministry of Cadence International hosted the retreat on this beautiful Island off of Okinawa. Click the video on top to see a little clip of the weekend. For those of you men who went on the retreat, or anyone else who would like to leave a message, can you please click the comment button below and leave an encouraging word for all the other guys to see. M.E.L.T (my english lunch time)

We are really blessed. This past week, Segmon, Vunder, and myself, were granted the opportunity to take over a ministry that Roy Toma and a few others have faithfully served for the past few years. It is called M.E.L.T. (my english lunch time), they meet at the Ryukus University here in Okinawa. The ministry involves teaching the college students english on Thursday afternoons from 12:00pm to 12:50pm. We share Jesus Christ through friendship evangelism. The students come to learn english and we get to know them. As we honestly befriend them, we invite them to hang out with us. They are a good group of people, and we all had a good time. Please continue to pray for us, as we already have a wonderful college group meeting at my house on Sunday nights (w2-Worship/Word) it would be a blessing to have some of these students come and get to know Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.

Vunder's Boys

This past weekend, Segmon and Vunder had the opportunity to serve at the OCSI fall camps. They were invited down south to Itoman with the middle schoolers, and they had a blast. Pictured above are some of Vunder's boys who were competing in some kind of team competition. They are posing in the classic "Samoan Livingwater style". Please continue to pray for the students at OCSI that the Lord will continue to do a wonderful work in their lives.
