DSC03314

DSC03315

The students at Deojeon English Institute are invited to attend an English Bible Study on Friday nights. Mike Loudermilk usually teaches them, but he invited the Bible Students to share with the English Students. There were a lot of students and it was a blessing.

Morning devotions

This morning we had the opportunity to hike a little up the mountain and do our devotions near the mountain stream. It was a real blessing. We worshipped the Lord, did a devotion and spent some time alone with the Lord.

Matt heads back to Iwakuni

DSC03296

It was a major blessing hanging around with Matt. But he had to leave the group today in order to get back to CCIwakuni for their Sunday morning service. We had a great time hanging out with our buddy, and the other team members really enjoyed his fellowship. As one of the guys said "He was a cool head". God bless you Matt, may the Lord continue to bless your ministry back in Mainland Japan.

SOM English Class

The team had the opportunity again to be a part of Mike's English class with the students at the School of Ministry. We had a lot of fun with the students, after we played a game, we spent time getting to know them better asking about Korean history, especially the history of Christianity in this country.

Jonathon back in Indonesia

These pictures were taken a few days before our brother returned back to Indonesia. Jonathon is doing well, this is what he emailed me below:

Halo Pastor Tom,

How are you?
I am doing well in Jakarta.
I am glad I can start again my life and ministry in my community.
Next December 2 college students from Australia will visit our church as missionaries.
They will minister us 2-3 months.
Beside that, we have a Christian School, from kindergarten to junior high school, and they will teach English in our school.
I hope you can visit and minister us in Indonesia.
Please pray for Indonesia.
I also hope some of your students can be missionary in Indonesia.

God bless you.
Best regards,
Yonathan Asikin

Independence Hall

A short video clip by film maker and award winning runner up Daniel Sedota. Please double click on the video above.

Model of the battle for Independence

This was an incredible model of the battle for independence that is located right in front of the memorial park. If you look in the larger picture you can see how big we are compared to the models. There was a lot of work put into this sight, it was really amazing.

David Redondo back in Arizona

David is back at home and sent us this picture of his buddies at home. Dave loves his dogs, and reminds me of Joe Tipton. We miss you Dave, be blessed and we can't wait until the Lord brings you back to Okinawa.

Dinner with the Cooks

After dinner at this Korean restaurant, we took a picture with the owners. It was a family owned business. The food was absolutely delicious. Too much food though, we ate like pigs. Daniel was to coffee server after dinner. What is really cool about Korea, you can always get a good cup of Joe, after you eat.

The Great Masao

Can you see Masao in the bottom picture? You can see how big this statue is behind our brother. This statue commemorates Korea's rise to the top through much difficulties. In the pictures above, you can see the team in the midst of all the Korean flags.

Team at Independence Hall

Today Mike took the whole team sightseeing at a famous place in Daejeon. This is the memorial site where the Koreans celebrate their independence from Japanese occupation. Just like we have Peace Memorial Park in Okinawa, this place is similar. Everyone had a great time hanging out, just having a good time.

Calvary Chapel Cheonan

DSC03227 DSC03225

This is the only Calvary Chapel here in Korea. Their services were originally only in Korean, but recently they started a new English service to serve more people here in Cheonan. Inwon is the Pastor at CCCheonan, while Mike Loudermilk teaches the English side of the Church. The ministry rents the basement floor as well as the second story of the building.

Amazing feet of Strength

DSC03237  DSC03238 DSC03239

One of the students at the Korean School of Ministry is a Martial Arts expert. He gave Bryce and the some of the students a demonstration of his abilities. He did this back flip kick as he knocked the book out of Bryce's hand. Check out the expression on his face.

Korean English Time

DSC03233DSC03241  DSC03228

It's ministry time at the School of Ministry. Mike Loudermilk teaches English to the Bible Students. We were given the opportunity to help them with their English communication. We were blessed with this time to help at the school.

Chris the Orator

DSC03256

DSC03257

Each of the students were given the opportunity to share their favorite Scripture with the students at the English institute where Mike teaches. Chris did a good job of sharing the Lord when it was his time to speak.

Famous Artwork

DSC03263 DSC03264 DSC03265 DSC03267

At this restaurant they allow you to draw on the walls. Zach (like always) started drawing pictures of the team. Tom Cotton is first, then Daniel, and last but not least, Chris and Bryce. Everyone had a good time of fellowship.

Korean Chicken Wok

DSC03261

DSC03262

A special dinner in Chungju. After the study class, some of the Korean students joined us for dinner. Mike took us to a place that cooked Chicken and vegtables in this large iron wok. As you can see there were a lot of pans frying. They are not all pictured but there were 7 of them going. Words cannot describe the eating experience as well as the great fellowship.

It's Sherry and the Family

Hi everyone! Sherry sent us this picture of her and the family. This is Sherry's husband Larry. Please continue to pray for her and all the work that the Lord is doing in their life. We love you Sherry and may God continue to do a wonderful work in you and your family.

Isabella Milagros Horne is here!

Isabella was born on Monday, April 7,2008. Somewhere between 8:30 - 9:00pm. She weighed 7 lbs 9 oz. And was 20 inches long. Mom and baby (and daddy) are all doing fine. The baby should be coming home tomorrow, Wednesday April 9th.

Psalm 127:3-5
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of oneʼs youth.
Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them; They shall not be ashamed, But shall speak with their enemies in the gate.

Packed out Van

DSC03206

After arriving in Korea, our van arrived shortly. As you can see, we are packed out! This is a 15 passenger van and that is how many people were in it. Because the van is packed out, all of the students have to have their luggage on their laps or under their feet. The good thing about this, we are going to get close real quick.

Korean Cherry Blossom Festival

DSC03210 DSC03212
This is the best time of the year to be in Korea. The weather is getting warmer, and the Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom. The city where we are staying at, there is a major festival going on. So we went out and walked the streets. Because the cherry blossoms are white, they put different colored floodlights on them, they look so beautiful.

The Cherry Blossom Queen

DSC03221 DSC03222

Christina looks so beautiful holding the Cherry Blossoms doesn't she? The trees are so beautiful and we had a blast checking out the different sights. The trees are in full bloom.

Asiana Airlines

DSC03200 DSC03199 DSC03198

This is a real cool airline. The seats are comfortable and spacious. The food was really, really good. It is amazing how tired you get when you step on an airplane. Many of the students fell asleep right after lunch.

We made it! Korea here we are!

DSC03205 We stepped off the plane and took this picture. As you can see, we are all rested up. It is so different flying from the United States into different countries, you are so "jetlagged". This is not what it is like when you fly from Japan. The flight is only 2 hours from Okinawa. We get off the plane and we are ready to minister.

Mr. Stephen Lee

DSC03197

Stephen is a good friend of Aaron Megiede's Dad Allen. In fact Allen works for Mr. Lee's company. Stephen is such a blessing to many people. He has a real calling of God to help assist ministries over seas. Stephen spent a few days here in Okinawa and then he was flying out to see his parents in Korea. After a short visit to Korea, he will head back to the San Francisco area. He is only able to travel a short time overseas, then, back to work.

Airport happy!

DSC03196 DSC03195

When is the best time to eat snacks? Answer: Any Time. Before we left Joanna made little care packages for us in the airplane. (As you can see, we could not wait) What a good mama Joanna is. Even though these guys don't have their physical moms here, Joanna fills in as much as she can.
