Leaving Daejeon

DSC09446DSC09448We had a great time in Daejeon City with Pastor Mike and the Missionaries (hey, that sounds like a great band name). It is always sad when we have to leave the Daejeon area. But now we are on a way to Seoul for some shopping and Mexican food. Mike loves Mexican food. Tonight we will stay close to the airport and then back to Okinawa.

Mountain Adventure

DSC09432DSC09435 The team were all blessed with the opportunity to go on a mountain hike with Pastor Mike. He took us to a famous place, Mt. Daedunsan. Many Korean people like to hike, so we were full on Korean’s. I was amazed by this picture; check out the two people on the edge of this cliff, it really freaked me out. I was worried that they might fall of the side, but they did not, Praise the Lord! We had a great time.

Drying Chili’s

DSC09429 These are the delicious chili’s that are grown here in Korea. They are used for many of their dishes. Mostly they are used in a paste that is mixed or used in a side dish. Without these chili’s there would not be most of the Korean dishes. Here they are being dried out in the sun. They are so bright red!

Unified Unicorns

This is Jesse Spencer's team; the Unified Unicorns. They rock! We hope you like their cheer. They were the winners of the team events. You go guys!

Teacher Eder

DSC09417

DSC09416DSC09415 Eder taught on Sunday night at CCDaejeon. He did a good job. No translator so he had to be slow and smooth. Good job Eder, keep teaching for Jesus Christ.

Nayeon Video

You seen it first here! That is right! The first video on Daniel's gal! She is such a wonderful gal and so gifted. She is a gifted Pianist. Awesome! We hope you like the video. God bless you all.

Daniel’s Special Friend

DSC09410 This is Daniel’s girlfriend, Nayeon. She is such a sweetheart. We had the opportunity to talk with her and get to know her better. We told her all the juice on Daniel! Just kidding! Daniel is a romantic kind of guy. Even though he is in Italy, he makes the time for video videos. What do you mean Pastor Tom? Well, he sets up the time and they watch a video on skype of the same movie at the same time. They even both have a bag of popcorn and empty half of it out so they can share the same bag. You romantic dog you. We love you Daniel, you are the ultimate video dater.

"Kimchi Krunchers"

While were were forming teams on the game night with the Korean Students, Eder's team came up with their team cheer. You be the judge on how it was. Go Kimchi Krunchers!

This is for you Dean Pera!

DSC09419

DSC09422 When Dean Pera was serving in Korea this was his favorite place to eat: “People Making Toast”. You can get all kinds of different toast sandwiches, from ham and cheese to pizza. As you can see it is delicious! This is for you Dean!

For Dean: "People Making Toast"

This video is done in honor of our buddy Dean Pera. We hope that you like it. Please just click on the video above, you will understand. God bless you Dean, we were totally thinking about you.

The Preacha

100_0893 Zach taught at the Morning Breakfast Bible Study. He taught out of 1 Timothy chapter 4. It was a good message. He was to connect with the Korean Students as for all of them English is their second language. Good job Zach, check out the sweet beard. Why can’t I grow one like that?

Ice Cream Chubs

100_0891100_0890

Eder was dying for a waffle cone foldover. So we found the place as Iza and Jesse took us there, but what Eder did not know is that they give you a scoop of ice cream in it if you want. So the rest of the team took the ice cream instead of the the frosting middle. Incredibly yummy, most of the team could not finish theirs, the best part about it…… they one cost one dollar.

Breakfast Bible Study at CCDeajeon

DSC09402DSC09403 Saturday mornings Pastor Mike invites people for western breakfast (eggs, bagels, cereal, yogurt and juices). Not everyone comes for the breakfast (they like traditional Korean breakfast, rice and kimchi) but they do like coming for the Bible Study. Eder led worship and Zach taught the Word, they both did a great job!

Jesse and Iza!

DSC09400DSC09399

We had our first  meal together with Iza and Jesse. Korean food, yes! Delicious. We ate until we could not eat anymore. Then the team went out for some ice cream. Dinner and ice cream, the perfect combination.

Safe Arrival

DSC09393 We made it! Safe in Seoul! Pastor Mike Loudermilk picked us up from the airport and now we drive down to Daejeon. The trip to Daejeon takes 3 hours, longer than the airplane ride from Okinawa. The team is up for the ride, except for Zach, he looks a little worried, and Eder, well Eder just is looking cross-eyed.

Boarding Time!

DSC09391DSC09390 Right on schedule! Boarding the plane. Two and a half hours to Seoul. It sure beats flying from California for 13 hours. We should hit the floor ready to go to work. “Lord, bless our wonderful team back in Okinawa, do a wonderful work while we are gone In Jesus Name, Amen!”

On the Way

DSC09388

DSC09387DSC09386

DSC09385 We are on the bus heading right to the plane. We are flying Asiana Airlines right into Seoul Korea. Everyone is pretty excited. It will be a blessed trip in the Lord. We are looking forward to seeing Iza and Jesse.

Rob flies to Mainland Japan for his Baseball Tournament. Please keep him in your prayers that they do great! Please click on the video to hear from Rob what will be going on in the next few days.

Heading to Fukuoka

Rob flies out to Mainland Japan today. He begins his turnament against the best minor league teams in Japan. Last week they won one of the best teams in all the Japanese league, Okiden. They have a good chance of doing well in this tournament. The whole team knows Vunder is a Christian, let's continue to pray for Rob as she plays for the Lord up in the Mainland.

First Report Card

Today Asa recieved his first report card from Japanese School. The teacher said that he is doing well. They even took the time to give us one in English. We really appreciate all the teacher's help. He did pretty good, minus a few of the fights that he got into. Sometimes he does not understand the other students, and that escalates into a few small brawls (just kidding). But has gotten into a few squabbles (he gets his temper from his mom). Asa we are so proud of you son, great Job!

Happy Birthday Toshi

After Wednesday night service we celebrated Toshi' Birthday. He turned the big 50! But this guy looks good. He still is in good shape. Some of the brothers blessed him with a cake. But also, Joanna made another cake (not pictured, don't worry we ate that one too) and it was delicious! Happy Birthday Toshi, the BIG 50!

Amanda Rockin

Wednesday night was a blessing having Amanda lead in worship. The Lord continues to use her in a mighty way. We are blessed with her gift for the Lord. She also is starting to lead at Camp Courtney where she is the intern at that chapel. You go girl! God for Jesus Christ!

Thank You for Your Prayers

The Typhoon passed by us very quickly through the night. The students were looking forward for some time off. But when they woke up in the morning the sun was shinning through, but the wind was still blowing hard. Thank you for your prayers, the typhoon changed course and passed by us, instead of through us. Prayer always works! Thank you Jesus!

Memorial Peace Park Visit

Monday we took some of the students for a trip down South to the Peace Park in Itoman. There is where the Battle of Okinawa finished. And now there is a huge memorial museum and park dedicated to the war. The area is so beautiful! The students had a good time.

The Newell's in Ginowan

Well, they are always around but it was a blessing to have them with us at w2. Masaki continues to grow and look more handsome everyday. Please continue to pray for the Newell's as they continue to step out in faith up in Nago City.

w2 Style

Sunday night was a blessing like usual. But it was special in that Eder taught for Andrew since he was going to be busy with the Hakugaijin concert at Mihama. The bummer was that the concert was cancelled because of rain. But w2 was a blessing. Zach led in worship with the group. Check out the new banners in the background, getting ready for fall. Hannah did a great job of sewing them, thank you Hannah for all your hard work, and thank you Jesus for all Your many Blessings.

Korea Team

DSC09353 This is the group that will be heading to Korea next week. We leave October the 9th – 14th. The other students do not have to go because they have visas or are Japanese citizens. We are looking forward to doing ministry with Pastor Mike at CCDaejeon. Please keep all the team members in your prayers.

It's A Big One!

The Typhoon over the Philippines is disapating, thank you for all of you who have been praying for us, but we need you to continue to pray, Typhoon Melor is heading our way. Check out the clarity of the "eye" of the storm. Typhoon's are interesting; the swirling of the vortex actually sucks up the ocean water and then brings it down as fresh water, truly awesome the power of the storm. The amazing wonders of our Lord.

Florida Wedding

John Michael is heading back to Florida to attend his sister's wedding. While the rest of the crew are in Korea, he will be spending some time back with his family. This was a commitment that he made to his family before the Lord opened the door for him to attend this semester. God always provides, He is a Good God. May the Lord bless you John Michael, be blessed and we will see you soon.

Mihama Outreach

This weekend was really interesting in Mihama. We originally were not going to go because of the threat of rain, but we went anyway, and it turned out to be a great night. People really do want to hear about Jesus Christ. There are some who do not, but there are those who do. All we are called to do is share His love. He will take care of the rest. If we are open and there to share His love, God will bring the people He wants to hear of His Wonderful Love, it was a blessed night.

A Handful

My youngest son Asa is truly a handful. He is always on the go. If he is not bugging one of the students he is making up his own characters for his shows. But he does always want to pray at mealtimes. Maybe he knows that he will eat quicker. I love him, what would the world be like without Asa?

Urgent Prayer Request!

Our Brother's and Sister's in the Philippines need our desperate prayers. Typhoon Parma is batting down on them and is dumping a lot of rain, causing massive flooding. We need to pray for their safety. There is also a big typhoon heading our way to Okinawa. But the need right now is to pray for the PI. Please take time to pray together with another believer. Thank you so much. God bless you, Pastor Tommy

God Bless you Irma and Izak

DSC09326

Ira has already left, but today Irma and Izak got on the plane heading to California. We already miss the Amargo family. They became such a big part of our life so fast. Words cannot express the love and thanks that we have for this family. Praise the Lord Ina is still here with us, and Iza is still in Korea. We love you all.

Prayer for Izak

DSC09321

DSC09322DSC09324We are going to miss our little bro. God bless you Izak, you were such a blessing here at the Church and Bible College. The youth group will not be the same without you. Hopefully the youth girls will now be able to focus more now that we don’t have this handsome guy around. Toki said “Don’t worry man, they still have me, Tapatio es muy delicioso”
