Vunder and Segmon in Yomitan Cave

On Saturday evening, on their day off, Segmon and Vunder went exploring in the caves of Yomitan. 60 years ago during WWII, 1000 Okinawans hid in these caves from the Americans. It is an incredible story, a Hawaiian American serviceman spoke and encouraged them to come out of the cave, as a result of his encouragement, all of them were saved. These guys had a great time exploring. Segmon is pictured checking out a weird bug in a crevice. Vunder is posing in the deep cave.

Tokashiki Island Men's Retreat

Hello everyone! This weekend I have the opportunity with a group of other men to head out to Tokashiki Island and lead worship at a men's retreat. The men's retreat is being hosted by the Harbor, an outreach ministry of Cadence international. Every year they host this retreat about this same time. We are looking forward to a wonderful weekend of ministry for Jesus Christ. Please click the audio blog below and hear our prayer requests for this week. God bless you all.

Joanna ministering at New Life Academy

On Friday, Joanna and I had the opportunity to minister at New life Academy in Okinawa. In the first Chapel we led worship and taught the High school and Middle schoolers. In the second Chapel Joanna taught the elementary students. She did a great job using an object lesson to bring home the truths in Scripture. The kids loved it. We were again blessed with the opportunity to minister at a new school in Okinawa.

Pastor Tom Hallman and the Williamsburg boys

These are some recent pictures that Pastor Tom sent me from Virginia. On the top pict, are some of the guys when they got back from the Men's retreat in Northern Virginia. The second picture is Pastor Tom and David Downs. David has recently come back from Hungary, being a recent graduate from CCBC Hungry. Shortly after his return back to Cali, himself and a group of guys went out to New Orleans to help in the emergency from Hurricane Katrina. There he later met Tom Hallman at CCPhiladelphia. The bottom pict is Patrick and Matthew doing an outreach at the local skate park in Virginia. Please continue to pray for Pastor Tom and his family as they continue to serve at the church in Colonial Williamsburg. Pastor Tommy

Pastor Tommy in Taipai, Taiwan

Hi everyone, I am in CKC International Airport in Taiwain. For those of you who do not know, my mother Yumiko was born in Taiwan. Back then, it was still owned by Japan, and Taiwan was called the Island of Formosa. So, everytime I am in Taiwan, I think of my mom and what it was like for her growing up on this Island. It is kind of interesting, my mother was born on an Island, and now we are living on one here in Okinawa.
I have a few hours and I thought that I would send up a little blog on the website. The flight was fast even though it was 14 hours long. The time was good, I slept a lot. Right when I get back to Okinawa, I need to finish up getting ready for my Bible College class on the Book of Acts. Then, the next morning Joanna and I are scheduled to do chapel services for New Life Academy. After that, Saturday morning I head out to Tokashiki Island to lead worship for a men's retreat until Monday, whewww! Things will be busy, but I am totally blessed just to be able to minister for Jesus Christ, here on the Island of Okinawa.

Eddie and Monique Salazar

If you do not know, this is Monique and Eddie Salazar. I was so blessed to stay in their home as I was doing ministry in the States. They are a wonderful couple and have 4 great kids. Please continue to pray for the Salazar's. While I was there, I encouraged Monique to step out in faith and start leading in worship in other ways, like; women's Biblestudies, breakfasts, and conferences, whenever, and wherever she is needed. God has truly gifted her and I know that she will be a blessing to other ministries. Pastor Tommy

Kids fun day at Castle Park

This Sunday Pastor Pule took some of the kids to Castle Park for a kids day out. Many of the kids helped out in the summer VBS and Pule rewarded them with a fun day. Pictured here are some of the kids that went that afternoon, as I passed by, I took this pict. You can see Micah in the center, and many of you remember Jamie (right), she was with us in Okinawa for the summer 5 week trip. Continue to pray for the kids at Livingwater, they are planning a children's play in December. Pastor Pule and Jerry have stepped out in faith and are renting the Corona Civic Center for the day.

Sunday service at CC Los Alamitos

Sunday October 2nd, I was blessed with the opportunity to head out to Seal Beach and lead worship at Pastor John Greenroyd's church. I took along with me, Krystal Gomez, Melissa Joyce, and Eli Salazar. It was real cool. That same morning another team led by Royce Rull headed out to the Los Angeles area and also did some ministry. When we came back to CCLivingwater for the evening service it was great to talk about the ministry that went on that day, and how God continues to send groups out from our small fellowship back at Livingwater. Please continue to pray for Pastor Jerry and the vision that God continues to give him for CCLivingwater.

Rosie in Jerusalem

What an incredible picture of Rosie pointing to the Mt. of Olives. Can you see the Dome of the Rock in the background to the left? (It is the gold dome). That area is the heat of the battle for the Jews, many want it back, so they can rebuild the temple, but that is a long story. Rosie is doing wonderful, what a blessing to see her growing in the Lord. Please continue to pray for our sister as she ministers in the Holy Land. God bless you Rosie!

Youth group at CCLivingwater

Friday night the youth gather at Calvary Chapel Livingwater. Jon Horne is the youth Leader and he does some cool stuff. They transform the Sanctuary and set up bean bags, comfy couches, and make the area like a livingroom. The youth come together and worship the Lord. Seated in the picture are Royce Rull (left) and a new worship leader Able Duran (high schooler). Please continue to pray for the youth at CCLivingwater and also for Jon Horne that the Lord would continue to give him directon and vision for this group. Oh, also they are planning for next years youth outreach to Virginia, the summer missions trip will be called "deeply rooted".

CCBC Murrieta Campus

Thursday I had the opportunity to visit CCBC Murrieta and speak with the new director of Extension Campuses. His name is Jason Cunningham, he has taken over for Ben Viscarra who is taking a break to seek the Lord on new ventures of faith. Ben in the past, has been such a blessing and a help to the College in Okinawa, and Jason was also excited to hear of the good work that God is still doing. The campus in Murrieta is still as beautiful as ever. It was such a blessing to see young people all over, studying, fellowshipping, playing the guitar. I look forward to the day when God gives us a place that many young people can study the Word in Okinawa, Japan.

A new addition to the Velarde family, Silas!

Praise the Lord! Sandra and Damien had their baby! It is such a blessing to see a new addition to the family. For some of you who don't know Damien, he attends CCOkinawa and is one of the youth leaders there. They have a vision and a heart to go back to Italy and start a new work for the Lord. Damien has less than one year in the Navy and after that, he is free to go wherever the Lord leads them. Damien and Sandra have two other children, Hannah and Micah. So with the addition of Silas, they are a family of 5. Please continue to pray for this family that the Lord will lead and guide them, as they step out for Him.

Last day with the Hallman's

What a wonderful time I had with the Hallman's. The Lord is doing a great work within this family and the ministry. It was so good to see the boys leading in worship, God has gifted them in so many ways. Please continue to pray for them, as they faithfully serve the Lord in Virginia. Also pray that the Lord will continue to give us vision for the future. Before I left, we talked about stepping out with some new outreaches in December. It will be exciting to see what the Lord will do with this family in Virginia. God bless you Hallman's and may the Lord continue to lead and guide your steps. Love, Pastor Tommy

Steven and Pastor Tommy

Steven (left) is a guy who attends CCWilliamsburg and he loves the Lord! He is on fire for Jesus. He rededicated his heart to the Lord within the last 6 months and began picking up the guitar about a month ago. He is already leading worship for the kids group. Please continue to pray for Steven that he would grow in Jesus. Pray for Pastor Tom Hallman as he continues to disciple this young man.

Pastor Tommy at CCWilliamsburg

I had the opportunity to share Sunday night at CCWilliamsburg. It was such a blessing. We began with Worship (Patrick, Matthew, Tony and Aubry led) and then we got into the Word.

Tom and Tommy at College Creek

Monday morning we had the opportunity to go to College Creek about 15 minutes away from Pastor Tom Hallman's house. We spent some time in the morning praying, and then we took a swim. It was a good morning.

e3missions table at CCWilliamsburg

Pastor Tom took the time to stand at the e3missions table at his church. We had a great service together and afterwards had some sweet fellowship. They have begun a midweek service on Thursday, and in the beginning of the year will begin Sunday morning service.

Josh and Chris Wilson

Josh and Chris attend morning services at CCNewportnews, but also attend CCWilliamsburg on Sunday nights. They are both a wonderful couple with a heart to serve the Lord. God has been speaking to both of them about being missionaries to China. We spend much time together talking about how, and when would be the best time to step out in faith. Again, both are gifted young individuals with hearts for the Lord. Please continue to pray for them for open doors in Asia. God is always working, and they want to be in His perfect will. God bless you, Pastor Tommy

Pastor Tom Hallman at the Sunday night Service

Pastor Tom Hallman at CCWilliamsburg. This is the stage at the Library in Williamsburg that the church rents. It was such a blessing to be at the church. They have been holding Sunday night services for the past two months. Please continue to pray for the Hallman's and all the body there at CCWilliamsburg.
