We had our first Baby shower at the church last week. It was a real blessing as the gals got together to show the Love of Christ for Yuki. Baby showers are not a Japanese custom here in Okinawa. So some of the ladies who came did not understand what was going to happen. One of the gals was told to buy towels, soaps etc. She thought that when she got here that everyone was going to wash the baby (baby shower). She was surprised to see that the lady who the baby shower was for, was still pregnant. By the time the shower was over, she understood the idea. It was all about blessing the mom with gifts to help with the new baby. Kind of funny huh? We take for granted all of our customs in America. It was a real blessed night.
