On every American Base at 8:00 am the National Anthem is played. If you are outside, you need to stand at attention during the Anthem. If you are in your car or inside a building, you are ok to stay inside. These guys got caught between the car and the building. Three times a week we are blessed with the opportunity to go on base and work out at their gym. Good thing it was not raining, or they would be wet. These guys are law abiding citizens.

i like how sosimo is the only one with his hand over his heart :D
Hello from North Dakota.
I'm just dropping in to say "hi" and "thanks".
My dd had an Awana assignment to see what other countries do for their kids for Sunday School or Awana. It was hard to get a flavor from alot of the websites. Your blog was wonderful with its pictures and comments.
DD chose Okinawa because that is where her grandfather serviced in WWII. A Calvary Chapel blog was great because we're familiar with your church!
Thnanks again!
Praise the Lord!
We are blessed that you were able to use the blog for your assignment. Please continue to lift up the ministry here in Okinawa. Our hearts are to reach out to the Okinawan Japanese people with the Love of Jesus Christ.
God bless you,
Pastor Tommy
Don't you just love say the Pledge of Allegiance?! I have been working in the CA school district and we say it every morning. I cry almost everytime too. It's just awesome to be reminded of what God has done for us in this country!

No one told me that we had to stop. The first few times, I would be driving or walking around the base, and I'd wonder why people were standing still. (I was always far from the speaker and didn't hear the music.) I would walk by them or drive by other cars and think they are crazy. It took me a few times to figure it out! I'm sure people thought I was so rude and unpatriotic. :-)
Anyway, I miss you all and thanks for letting us read about what's happening back in Okinawa.
