Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Monday we headed out to Sesokojima to hang out at the beach and Paddleboard. This is a new type of sport that we are starting to do. Because there are not a lot of waves here in Okinawa (except when the water gets stirred up by typhoons) I have been wanting to get a little more exercise out in the water again. They Stand Up Paddle (SUP) a lot in Hawaii and it is starting to catch on all over the world. While in California I purchased one of these boards (it is 12 ft long) and brought it back to the Island. SUP is a lot of fun and great exercise. It feels good to get back in the water again. As you can see in the pictures Hannah, Sosimo, Rob, Joanna, Dave and Liz got into the act. Everyone had a great time. In the picture below, David Barrios made a sea turtle in the sand, it even looked better in real life. When we were not boarding, we were catching crabs, fish and even Sosimo caught a puffer fish with his feet. But that is another story.
