Session II – John Chubik

John was a former missionary serving in the Ukraine, but is now back in California. He encouraged us with this quote “Fear stops us, while love motivates us”. He used the analogy that when we are fearful we become paralyzed. But there was a situation in his life when his son was about to fall down the escalator. He was carrying all these bags as his son was falling, he reached out and caught him by the shirt. Someone asked him “how did you catch your son, your hands were all full”. Of course all his bags went everywhere, but he caught his son because “love motivated him”. Love will motivate us to do the impossible, while fear will paralyze us to do the simple. Some good stuff to meditate on.
