We were doing some studying in the community center here at Tonaki Jima. Today is like the old folks ladies get together. They gather at the community center to work out, watch movies, do a craft, eat lunch, and really just fellowship together. Well Aaron was sitting at the foyer area studying and then the ladies took their break. They came and sat near Aaron and started drinking tea, eating snacks, and started asking Aaron all kinds of questions and gave him tea and goodies. He did not understand a word they were saying but just kept saying “arigato” (thank you). They invited him back at 3pm because they are going to have another break and told him “there is nothing else to do today” (I guess because it is cold and cloudy). Good thing that Ryuko showed up to translate what the Grandma’s were saying.
