17’ Japanese Pole

DSC00362 DSC00361This was my special Japanese pole that I brought back from Okinawa to California (well, actually Pastor Rick brought it but that is another story). It is used to catch a Japanese style trout called the “Ayu Fish”. Hey, don’t we know a girl named Ayu, yes we do! Actually Ayu’s name means something like a “fresh water fish swimming upstream”. Getting back to the pole; it is telescopic, it is only 3 feet but then it stretches out to 17 feet. It worked perfect! These poles cost over $150.00 dollars brand new, I found it at a recycle shop in Okinawa for one $8.00, a good investment in Bishop.
